Straight from the game’s own public Roblox counters, refreshed daily. Everything else here comes out of recorded rounds — what was watched, and where we disagree with the guide you have probably read.
Nobody is coming to save you
The name says Murder Mystery 2 and the maps agree, so players spend their first round looking for the sheriff. Two separate recordings catch the exact moment it clicks — first “do we have a sheriff in this game?”, then later “wait, is there not a sheriff in this game? You just have to run and hope you don’t die.”
There is no weapon, no counterplay and no way to end the round early. What there is: a monster with an energy bar that empties, a heartbeat that tells you when it is close, and a timer that is shorter than it feels.
How the role spin works →The Locust starts inside the TV
It breaks out of the television. Do not be standing next to it.
Roles are spun at the start
Innocent or murderer. The murderer becomes the Locust.
There is no sheriff
Nobody is coming to shoot it. Survival is the only win condition.
Survive the timerReported
Around three minutes. The counter is labelled in nights.

Everything below was watched, not guessed. The game ships no badges and no public passes, so where something is unproven the page says so rather than filling the gap — here is exactly what that means.
How to survive a round
The four things that actually keep you alive, in the order they matter.
The Locust
It is faster than you, it climbs, and it runs out of energy. That last one is the opening.
Roles
Innocent or murderer — and why the murderer becomes the monster itself.
The maps
Familiar Murder Mystery 2 layouts with the lights off, and what that changes.
Keys
You collect them, they carry over, and the game never says what for.
Known bugs
Doors that will not close and an attack that sometimes will not fire. Pre-alpha, openly.
vs Murder Mystery 2
Same maps, same role spin, no sheriff. The differences that get MM2 players killed.
Is it free?
Free to join. What the Robux prompts are actually for.
How we know
Which recordings this is built on, and the widely-copied claims that did not check out.
What the Locust cannot do
Every survival tactic in this game is built on one of these four. Three of them are only visible if you have played a round from inside the monster.
It runs out of energy
Sprinting drains the Locust. When the bar empties it becomes very slow.
This is the single most useful thing to know, and players who have only ever been the survivor never see it. From the monster's side of a round: after a long chase the Locust simply stops being fast — "I ran out of energy, I'm so slow". A chase you cannot win in a straight line you can often win by making it long. Break line of sight, keep moving, and let the thing spend itself.
It climbs, but slowly
High ground buys time. It is not a safe spot.
Rooftops and upper floors work far better than they should — a group of five sat on top of a building and watched it circle underneath for most of a round. But it does get up eventually. Treat height as a timer you are winning, not a place you have won, and know your route down before you need it.
It crawls
It changes posture to get through low gaps.
Recorded runs show it moving on all fours as well as upright. Do not assume a gap that is too low for a person is a barrier.
It is faster than you
You do not outrun it in the open. You break line of sight.
The first reaction in every recording is the same — "that thing is so fast, how are you supposed to escape that". Straight-line running loses. What works is corners, floors, and putting objects between you and it until the energy bar does the work.
Full rounds, start to finish
Every mechanic on this site came out of these. The first one is the only recording that plays a whole round from inside the monster, which is where the energy bar and the television are visible.

Things the game does not explain
KeysUnverified
You pick them up and they carry over between rounds. What they buy is not shown in-game.
Playing as a monster on purposeReported
Robux buys the monster slot instead of waiting for the spin.
A hidden room with a keyboardUnverified
One recording finds a small room containing a keyboard.
Bugs, not tactics
Doors will not close
The close-door button does nothing in recorded runs.
The monster's attack sometimes stops working
Whole rounds have been lost by the Locust because it could not land a kill.

Frequently asked questions
+What is MM2 of The Locust?
A Roblox horror round built on the Murder Mystery 2 format. Roles are spun at the start, but the player who draws murderer becomes The Locust — the creature from House of The Locust — and everyone else has to survive the timer in the dark.
+Is there a sheriff?
No, and this is the difference that catches Murder Mystery 2 players out. Nothing in the round can kill the Locust. Surviving the clock is the only win condition, so any plan that ends in someone shooting it is not a plan.
+How long is a round?
Short — recorded runs show a five-minute clock at the start and players talking about surviving three. The HUD counts cleared rounds as nights, starting at zero.
+Are there MM2 of The Locust codes?
No code redemption has appeared in any recorded run, and the game has no public game passes or badges. Pages listing codes for it are describing something that has not been shown to exist. If that changes it will be said here.
+Is this the same game as House of The Locust?
No. They share the creature and nothing else. House of The Locust is a first-person escape game by NULLWORKS STUDIOS; this is a round-based survival mode by THE STALKERS OG built on Murder Mystery 2's structure.
+Is it finished?
No. The game's own description labels it pre-alpha and asks you to expect bugs, and recorded runs show doors that will not close and an attack that sometimes fails to fire. Treat anything on this site as true of the build it was recorded on.
Walk away from the television
It is the single most common death in the game and it happens in the first ten seconds of the round. Read the survival page and you will not be standing there.
